Magnolia petals and circle were used to reveal the natural phenomena – the inevitable cycle of decay. The record of experiments from beginning to the end were shown in three stages.
“2 mins evidence of self-presence” – A video work showing I used a needle piercing through a Magnolia petal to mark the date of dropping, seeing the darkened colour of the text.
“Decay” – A time-lapse video of a duration of 24 hours seeing the petal changing from fresh to shrivel.
“Repeated without end” – A video documenting the installation showing me placing the petals into a mandala concentric circle.
