Curves

“Curve” is an installation in an Edwardian Style Mansion built in the 1870s where my studio located in Melbourne. In responds to the architectural space, I followed the curves of each eucalyptus leaves to create a curved line looped around three sides of the wall. Each leave is held up with pins.

The installation was triggered by the fact that organic materials consist of a complex infinite variety in which no two materials are the same. Each Eucalyptus leave has its own unique curve with different angles and linear network of veins. These thread-like lines in nature guide me to reflect on the natural variables on top of the geometrical form in our world.
