“Cubes” is composed 36 of 5cm3 translucent cubes made with beeswax. Each of the cubes shows luminosity and fragments of earth pigment and organic substances. Earth tone colours including yellow ochre, burnt sienna, Venetian red, burnt umber, charcoal. Darker colour’s cubes were arranged from inside growing to lighter colour on the outside. Set up was meticulously on a hand-drawn grid paper. At a glance, the cubes were lined up perfectly; with a closer look will soon discover each of them is imperfect and inconsistent due to the organic nature of the material. It is one of the experimental work I have done with beeswax.
